Saturn's Only Sports Car | The Bad Blonde Car History #DRIVE

Let's go for a drive! Saturn was created in 1985 as an attempt by GM to compete with Japanese imports of the time and was eventually dissolved in 2010. The Saturn Sky's looks are heavily influenced by the Vauxhall XV Lightning concept. A concept that GM VP Bob Lutz said of its design "Keep it simple, pure, and beautiful.' The Saturn Sk was designed by Franz von Holzhausen who's been with Mazda, Volkswagen, GM, and Tesla (since 2008). It uses the Kappa automobile platform shared with the Pontiac Solstice. The Wilmington Assembly plant closed in July 2009, ending production as both the Pontiac and Saturn nameplates were retired. #saturn #sky #sportscars
